Children who access the Best Start Plus Nursery Funding programme and their parents had the opportunity to visit Jersey Zoo last week.
Families explored the zoo at their leisure and returned to a meeting point within the zoo grounds to enjoy a picnic lunch, books, singing and signing with Sarah Gavey, our Best Start Nursery Funding Programme Coordinator and Alice Bennion, our Programmes and Services Director.
It was lovely to see the children and families enjoy the experience together and witness the connections they have begun to make as they become familiar with each other through attending our drop ins and events throughout the year.
Families expressed having a wonderful time, especially as the majority had not previously visited the zoo so were very grateful for the opportunity to experience this for the first time with their child/children.
