To provide you with the services described above, we rely on one or more of these lawful bases, depending on the nature of the processing activity and the context in which your information is used.
- Performance of a contract – where the processing is necessary to enter into, or fulfil, our contractual obligations to you;
- Legitimate interests – where the processing is necessary for our legitimate organisational interests, and these are not overridden by your rights and freedoms;
- Consent – where we rely on your explicit authorisation to process information for specified purposes e.g. mailing newsletters.
- Compliance with a legal obligation: where we are required to process information to meet our statutory or regulatory duties.
We collect personal data (identity data, contact data and, in some circumstances financial data and special category data) which:

- you give specific authorisation for a professional to provide to us.
– Identity data includes: first name/s, last name, martial status, title, d.o.b., gender and Social Security Number.
– Contact data includes: postal address, email address, telephone number
– Financial data includes: bank account details, TIN (Tax Information Number), and for certain services monthly income and expenditure.
– Special category data includes: race or ethnicity, religious beliefs, physical or mental health, details of criminal offences.
Personal information we collect about you, other than specified in the paragraph below will not be disclosed to any third parties except where we have data sharing arrangements in place with professional organisations; if required by Law; by order of the Court; or to protect the safety and well-being of an individual. For example, we have a duty to share personal information with professional agencies where there are safeguarding or child-protection concerns.
We only hold your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected in line with our retention schedule.
As part of the services we offer you, such as booking training courses and sending newsletters, the information you provide may be transferred to countries outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). By submitting your personal data, you are agreeing to this transfer, storing and processing. When information is transferred outside of the EEA in this way, we will take steps to ensure that appropriate security measures are taken to continue to protect your privacy rights.
16 years or under
If you are 16 years or under and wish to volunteer with us, we must obtain your parent/guardian’s permission before we can process your information.
Donations
The Jersey Child Care Trust has no knowledge of, or access to, any banking information that you submit to our JustGiving donation page. Any transactions made on the JustGiving website are made over a secure link. The information which we have access to, unless you have elected to remain anonymous, is your name, email address and the amount donated. This information will only be used to claim Jersey Gift Aid on donations over £50 for any online donations or any R10 forms in relation to manual donations https://www.justgiving.com/
