Children and families benefiting from the Best Start Plus Nursery Funding Programme recently enjoyed festivities at Pip’s Place during a Christmas Drop-In event held over two days.
The event was filled with activities, refreshments, Christmas presents kindly donated by staff at RBSi, and plenty of take-home goodies.
The children were thrilled to receive specially crafted activity bags sponsored by Barclays Bank, featuring Christmas themed activities they could complete at home. Each activity bag contained Christmas tree decorations, colouring pencils, stick-on gems, playdough, and Christmas-themed playdough cutters.
In addition, The Party Crew generously provided a voucher for each child accessing the Best Start Plus Nursery Funding Programme, offering them a free session at the newly opened Bounce House. Each family also received a £50.00 voucher for the Co-op, assisting them in preparations for the festive season.
Thanks to the ‘Connect Me: Connecting our Communities Grant’ from the Government of Jersey the children accessing the programme were also able to practice exploring and playing with the sticky tape, bean bags, coloured paper and Jersey Bear Adventure Book through guided activities before taking home the activity bag and resources to encourage the physical activities in their home.
We really enjoyed connecting with the families we support through the programme and seeing the families and children connect with each other, highlighting the significance of our drop-in sessions in bringing families accessing the programme together.
