Christmas at the Museum Brings Joy to Over 250 Children and Families

The Jersey Child Care Trust (JCCT) was delighted to host its Christmas at the Museum event, welcoming more than 250 children, their families, supporters, and professional partners for an evening filled with festive magic at the Jersey Museum.

This special celebration was made possible thanks to the incredible generosity of our community. Corporate partners Ogier, a ConnectMe GrantRBSi employeesVibrant Jersey, and many others contributed their time, skills, and resources to create an unforgettable experience. Local businesses and individuals also played a key role:

  • Dough donated 100 delicious cookies
  • Jacki Braid provided a stunning gingerbread house raffle prize and personalised thank-you cookies for JCCT Ambassadors
  • Penny Byrne, children’s author, gave readings of her book Corbi’s Christmas Lights
  • And of course, our dedicated JCCT team worked tirelessly behind the scenes.

Building on the success of other events throughout the year, this festive gathering gave parents supported by JCCT the chance to reconnect while their children enjoyed arts and crafts, face painting, a scavenger hunt, selfies with a real elf, and a magical visit with Santa. Families explored the entire Jersey Museum and left with treasured memories, Santa gifts, and a free copy of Penny Byrne’s book.

For the grown-ups, there were mulled wine, mince pies, and everyone enjoyed the uplifting sounds of The Inclusion Choir, who brought festive cheer through singing and signing.

One parent shared:
“This is amazing. We had made the difficult decision not to visit Santa’s Grotto this year because we simply haven’t got the money, but seeing Santa here has been magical for the children. The children got to have a very special chat with him and their Santa gifts are amazing, thank you!”

JCCT CEO Fiona Vacher said:
“Our Christmas at the Museum event was such a special event where our supporters, partners, children and families come together over the festivities. We saw lots of new connections made and everyone enjoying themselves at a truly inclusive event. My favourite moment was watching children we support join in with carols sung by The Inclusion Choir—showing them how they can be part of something so joyful when they are young adults too.”

This event truly achieved its mission: connecting those we support with those who support us in a fun, inclusive, and relaxed way. We are deeply grateful to everyone who helped make this event possible.
