JCCT Patron, Dr Karen Kyd visited Busy Bees La Providence (LP) Nursery to meet some of the people behind the scenes at JCCT who make such a difference to the lives of children in Jersey. Dr Alice Bennion, our Inclusion and Programmes Manager gave Dr Kyd valuable insights into the scale of our work, delivering services directly to over 160 children in 24 different nurseries and providing training to the whole children’s workforce. Alice said “Dr Kyd’s visit was very special. It was lovely to have the opportunity to show her some of our work in action and meet some of the people that make it happen and have the chance to, once again, meet Holly”.
Dr Kyd met Holly, aged four years, at Christmas when she was welcomed with her dad Gordon and Support Worker, Iona into Government House to receive a Christmas Gingerbread House gift, Dr Kyd said “It was wonderful to see the work of JCCT in action at the Busy Bees Nursery last week. I was most struck by the easy, fun and caring relationship between Holly and the other children as well as learning more about the specialist training JCCT provide for the wider childcare sector”.
