Recently the children, staff and parents/carers from Play & Learn at d’Auvergne were invited to visit Chestnut Farm Sanctuary by Best Start Partnership Jersey as part of their 50 things to do before you’re five initiative designed to provide young children with enriching experiences that support their learning and development.
Instead of their usual stay and play session, the children and their parent/carer prepared with their coats and welly boots headed via a dedicated bus from Liberty Bus to visit the animals.
They were thrilled to see and meet a variety of animals, from horses, goats, donkeys and pigs, to turkeys, roosters and guinea pigs. In addition, they were able to take part in some activities inspired by the 50 things to do before you’re five app including plenty of bubble.
The Chestnut Farm trip allowed the children to explore, play and learn in an engaging outdoor environment with their friends, parents/carers and nursery staff.
A big thank you to Chestnut Farm, Best Start Partnership Jersey, 50 Things to Do Before You’re Five, and Liberty Bus for providing the children with such an amazing opportunity.
