Funding Programme
Supporting families to access the childcare they need.
Every Step Funding Programme aims to remove barriers to accessing childhood education and care by providing a range of funding opportunities for families facing financial challenge. The programme has been created to complement the Government’s free childcare offer. This programme replaces the Best Start Plus Nursery Funding Programme.
Funding Options Available
Option 1 – Upfront Payments for Government offer of childcare funding for 2-3 year olds
For families unable to pay childcare fees in advance, JCCT can pay the childcare provider directly. Families will need to demonstrate that they cannot meet these upfront costs. Parents can self refer for this option.
Option 2 – From a Child’s 2nd Birthday
We can fund 15 hours of childcare from a child’s 2nd birthday up until the September in the school year they turn 3 years old, when they can access Government funded childcare
Option 3 – For 2-3 year olds
We can provide 15 hours childcare during the school holidays for 2-3 year olds.
Option 4 – 30 hours school holiday childcare for 3-4 year olds
We can provide up to 30 hours childcare during the school holidays for 3-4 year olds in their NEF year.
Option 5 – For Primary-Aged Children
We can provide up to 30 hours of childcare during the school holidays for up to 10 weeks a year. Families can access up to 300 hours of childcare for children in the school reception year up to the September they start secondary school.
How to Apply
- Parents can self refer for Option 1 (upfront payments).
- For all other options, families will need support from a professional who knows them. See list to the right.
- Complete our Every Step Funding Programme form.
- All referrals will be reviewed within 4 weeks of receipt.
- Completed forms should be emailed to Sarah at sarah@jcct.org.je.
- Funded hours can only be accessed through regulated providers.
