Paying for Childcare
Childcare Tax Relief
Tax relief is granted for payments made to all registered childcare, States-provided nursery classes, accredited nannies and registered childminders. The amount you can claim depends on your income (and your partner’s income if you are married) and the age/s of your child/children. If you have preschool children, you can claim enhanced childcare tax relief for each year of tax assessment. This is available up to and including the year in which your child is entitled to free early years education through the Nursery Education Fund (NEF).
Payments made by Income Support for childcare cannot be claimed as a deduction for tax. For more information visit the Childcare Tax Relief page on the Gov.je website.
